If I could afford it I would buy it Macca could save some money and gift it to PR and there are many others out there for whom it would be chicken feed... playing now: Teen Spirit say no more! |
| Dave C. Wed, 02/13/2008 23:13 |
Bloody accountants in charge No passion for music no idea just want to air more adverts. They might as well just run the **** ads 24/7 without Planet Rock. Perhaps we should boycot their other stations in protest |
| P R. Wed, 02/13/2008 22:53 |
SAVE THE ROCK!!!! |
| chris h. Wed, 02/13/2008 22:53 |
save planet rock uk radio would be a boring bland wasteland without it |
| steve h. Wed, 02/13/2008 22:45 |
planet rock must not die. the number of people showing their support is amazing. |
| Villa V. Wed, 02/13/2008 22:15 |
Like others on here I got my first DAB and found PR by accident, I now have
four. It won't be the same without Rick and the Hoffmeister, Nicky, Rob, Murray
J, for pity's sake how many other stations let their listeners loose with an hour
of our own choices. The stunning specials they've done, with the likes of Fish,
Gary, Tony and Ian as guest presenters. Good luck guys both on here and in the studios. |
| David B. Wed, 02/13/2008 22:04 |
I don't listen to radio at all, I have all the music I need but Planet Rock is awesome the only decent DAB radio and I have and still do listen to it to hear new stuff of any genre, it can't go.. its great! |
| DIAMOND G. Wed, 02/13/2008 21:05 |
Without PR what is there? just crap top 40 bollox. Radio Boring. What's the point of DAB without PR? Is like Sky TV without any sport. Might as well go back to 4 tv channels and naff FM signals. So much for technology. Pity this country didnt adpot the Srius Sat network as they have in the USA. DAB hasn't taken off because it is no good in certain areas, on portables and in the car. Anyway Gmedia are tossers and I hope they go bust. |
| Chris P. Wed, 02/13/2008 21:00 |
Save the planet. |
| DIAMOND G. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:53 |
Planet Rock MUST keep going. what kind of radio do we have in this country? CRAP! without PR!! |
| Carl T. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:43 |
Planet Rock has to stay. It is the only radio station playing this genre of music and has one of the highest rating audience figures for DAB only stations |
| Michael F. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:32 |
Like a lot of other Planet Rock listeners i only bought a DAB radio to listen my favourite music that other stations dont want to play.I stay in Scotland and the stations up here wont even play artists like Fish in his homeland,Planet Rock is THE only station to listen to.SAVE OUR STATION |
| Andrew E. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:24 |
Planet Rock is the only way to go for Rock radio! Keep it alive! |
| Martin B. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:17 |
GCAP you have got it wrong listening figures are fake statistics. This station must stay. |
| Piggy P. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:11 |
Signed to support of a radio station that still believes that music radio should be about entertainment and not indoctrination. Long live Planet Rock! |
| Ranjit S. Wed, 02/13/2008 20:03 |
Planet Rock is the only station that plays Rock/Heavy Metal from all genres. Please do not close this station. RSJ |
| Steve P. Wed, 02/13/2008 19:58 |

| Nina M. Wed, 02/13/2008 19:42 |
Please, I will do everything to save the best radio station on earth! It has the best shows and the best music! Save Planet Rock! Especially my favourite show Rick's Place! Nina (19, Germany) |
| Ryan M. Wed, 02/13/2008 19:38 |
Why shut down the best radio station there is? Planet rock is the heart, the soul and -most of all- the spirit of the radio. |
| Pete D. Wed, 02/13/2008 19:32 |
Please save Planet Rock. It is by far the best channel of it's kind. Don't do the stupid thing, LET THE MUSIC LIVE |
| peter e. Wed, 02/13/2008 18:13 |
I would just like to say that Planet Rock is the best station doing what it does & would like to say that through planet rock & its great forum i have made some great friends & learned a great deal about rock music. i hope that it can be saved as i know like me there are loads out there who feel the same! It has the best forum anywhere & has always been an informative program. Long may it continue! Meat Hook Sodomy! |
| Rob B. Wed, 02/13/2008 17:42 |
The only reason I have DAB radio. We have actualy gone through three different radios in a year as we are builders and generally pretty careless. Would rather keep buying radios than listen to the three of four songs on all the other 'hit' stations. Rock on |
| M T. Wed, 02/13/2008 17:41 |
Save Planet Rock. It cannit Die |
| brian g. Wed, 02/13/2008 17:36 |

save planet rock! it is unique and dearly loved by many. |
| Ian A. Wed, 02/13/2008 17:13 |
If they close PR maybe we should parcel up our DAB radios and send them to the spinless corporate idiots who think the world likes to listen to ****e, bet they wouldn't do this to opera |
| Jacqui B. Wed, 02/13/2008 16:59 |
I would dearly miss PR I love the music I love the dj's and love all the people I have met on their fantastic forum if it is a money issues couldn't we pay to listen like pay to view on Sky ? I would hate not to have PR in my life |
| Jacqui B. Wed, 02/13/2008 16:54 |
I cannot imagine life without PR For over two years now I have listened to it at work and at home at every opportunity I have joined the PR forum and met some fantastic people who I have had the priviledge to meet through PR.....there is not many other people who I can talk to about rock music and it is like a breath of fresh air. If it is a money issue, why can't we pay to listen rather than lose it altogether? Warm regards Jacqui B aka Rockshick 666 |
| Jacqui B. Wed, 02/13/2008 16:43 |
Please save Planet Rock...it is by far the best radio station in the country with the best music played 24/7. I have two dab radio's which I brought just to listen to Planet Rock and my life would now be so empty without it Plus your fantastic forum is the best, have met a lot of the people on it, have made some wonderful friends and go to concerts together If the cost is an issue then please give us the opportunity of paying to listen rather than losing this brilliant radio station altogether Warm regards Jacqui Broadwood aka Rock chick 666 |
| J. M. Wed, 02/13/2008 16:35 |
Where do we go from here? Its the only station my DAB radio has ever been tuned to. If there's no Rick Wakeman on Sat morning, its not worth getting up early. |
| Paul D. Wed, 02/13/2008 15:46 |
I hope that Gcap try and find a buyer for PR. In these days of 'profit means everything' maybe in the hope of recovering some of their investment costs a new owner may PR the second chance it deserves. |
| Gary A. Wed, 02/13/2008 15:31 |
I can't imagine listening to anything else musically on DAB other than Planet Rock.....It's why I invested in the 4 DAB Radio's I own ! Save The Planet !! |
| Rick T. Wed, 02/13/2008 14:57 |
If Planet Rock goes, I WILL trade in my DAB, as that's all it's good for. There is NOTHING elso worth listening to you can't get on analogue. |
| stuart o. Wed, 02/13/2008 14:46 |
Great music, great presenters, it's the only radio station I listen to. Stu O |
| alan a. Wed, 02/13/2008 14:27 |
It's a great radio station. The music comes first, which is a rare thing in radio these days. Alan A. |
| sean m. Wed, 02/13/2008 14:21 |

| mark l. Wed, 02/13/2008 14:16 |

| Gary E. Wed, 02/13/2008 14:02 |
Switched from Radio2 (due to Katie Melua overload) about 18months ago and never looked back. Good music and good presenters and a real joy to listen to in the office and at home. Don't let a good thing die!! |
| Lucy B. Wed, 02/13/2008 13:45 |
Save Planet Rock the first station I've ever found that I listen to all the time even bought a Marshall DAB radio to tune in. It's the only station of its kind don't punish it for being different from the other stations, which all sound the same. Planet Rock offers a brilliant and important alternative for listeners gutted to hear it might close down. |
| Grahaem B. Wed, 02/13/2008 13:07 |
Not enough Rock radio sations are on are on air. so keep PLEASE Planet Rock alive!!!! |
| Suzii M. Wed, 02/13/2008 13:00 |

| martin h. Wed, 02/13/2008 12:32 |

| Graham H. Wed, 02/13/2008 12:20 |
ALL! Please go and leave an encouraging and supportive message on the planet rock site try not to rant! http://www.planetrock.co.uk/article.asp?... |
| Rob S. Wed, 02/13/2008 12:17 |
The ONLY station worth listening to. I've been a listener since day 1. It's the only thing that keeps me sane. The station IS making a profit, the listening figures are good, and it's won several prestigious awards. That doesn't make sound business sense in anyone's language. |
| H S. Wed, 02/13/2008 12:09 |
Where else can you go to bed peacefully after listening to cool Led Zeppelin's track. Together we must keep this greatest station going!! |
| Leon C. Wed, 02/13/2008 11:42 |
Planet Rock is a great station. |
| H S. Wed, 02/13/2008 11:36 |
Planet Rock is the only radio station worth listening to on earth, where else can you get friendly presenters who respond promptly by sending you an email. To close this staion is the crime of the century. Fru must be blind if not total out of touch!!!!! |
| Martin L. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:57 |
Must be saved on DAB |
| mil d. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:48 |

| andreas d. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:47 |

| andrew g. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:46 |
Planet Rock is the only music station I listen to on DAB radio. I couldn't
believe it when they announced it was to close might aswell get rid of my 2 DAB radios come the end of March! Surely someone will come in and save it. It may well be considered a niche station but it is a very popular niche station so surely someone will see it's potential. At the end of the day it's audience will only rise if DAB radio sales continue to increase. SAVE PLANET ROCK!! |
| mil d. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:46 |
Massive dismay at the axing of planet rock. PLEASE rethink you have more listeners than u think |
| saul w. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:42 |
Ludicrous desicion to close an awrd winning station with consitant monthon th audience growth. Where is the sense in that. Save Planet Rock Save the world! |
| R A. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:41 |
Planet Rock is the sole reason I now have 4 DAB radios around the house and will boycott GCap Media in the future if Planet Rock is betrayed like this! |
| Mike K. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:26 |
It would be scandalous if a buyer cannot be found for Planet Rock. |
| Rory R. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:19 |
The only reason I own a DAB is for PLANET ROCK!!! |
| Debby M. Wed, 02/13/2008 10:10 |

| David H. Wed, 02/13/2008 09:58 |
I love Planet Rock, I don't want it to go otherwise I would have bought a digital radio for nothing. Best radio station ever |
| andy m. Wed, 02/13/2008 09:55 |
save the rock bloc station PLEASE |
| Will S. Wed, 02/13/2008 09:37 |
Keep it going, the playlists are great! Will |
| Roger G. Wed, 02/13/2008 09:35 |
I too only bought a DAB radio to listen to Planet Rock. As usual the corporate men and women don't understand the Rock/Metal market and seem to see us as unimportant and want to take away our choice of what we listen to. It doesn't mean that by closing Planet Rock that we will listen to another radio station, we will just listen to our MP3 players instead. We want this station to continue!! |
| Mike H. Wed, 02/13/2008 09:18 |
The best radio station out there, dont let this happen. |
| Andy W. Wed, 02/13/2008 09:14 |
Life without Planet Rock really would be a bore |
| Laura C. Wed, 02/13/2008 08:51 |
There is a market for classic rock PLANET ROCK caters to this market do not take it away!! There is little enough recognition for rockers out there without taking away the top radio station. Hear our cry PLANET ROCK must live on!! Join the groups, sign the petitions and be heard fellow headbangers! \m/ |
| steve h. Wed, 02/13/2008 08:49 |
.WE CANNOT LOSE THIS UNIQUIE STATION. signed |
| Colette M. Wed, 02/13/2008 08:36 |
Surely every sodding station in the UK doesn't have to be dance and golden oldies and chuffing "Radio Local"?? I've got 3 spare DAB radios if this goes belly up, and 17000 MP3s to turn into bearable playlists. Don't make me go there! |
| steve h. Wed, 02/13/2008 08:32 |
when i first heard pr i thought they had broke into my home, stole all my cd's and were playing them back to me over the airwaves.WE CANNOT LOSE THIS UNIQUE STATION |
| Gary B. Wed, 02/13/2008 08:00 |
Planet Rock is by miles the best station around. Not since Radio Caroline's sad demise have I enjoyed listening to the radio so much. It must survive! |

| Greg R. Wed, 02/13/2008 03:16 |
Absolute DISASTER!! I only bought a DAB radio so I could listen to Planet Rock. Its the only station that plays the music that so many of us care for. Something must be done to save the only station that doesn't churn out soulless indie/pop fodder. HELP!! |
| Ian S. Wed, 02/13/2008 00:59 |
Keep on Planet Rocking in the Free World.. |
| Tom A. Wed, 02/13/2008 00:11 |
Lets face it, digital radio is ****! It should not be, it should be a fantastic medium for all walks of life, but alas the frequency is fast becoming clogged up with "blanket music" what a shame, what a waste! |
| Ronnie C. Wed, 02/13/2008 00:04 |
I discovered P.R. through DAB and it's the ONLY station I listen to Planet Rock has brought me new friends and MORE friends than any other single activity or event or organisation ever has I have made more friends through Planet Rock than I have at work and I work in a MASSIVE London hospital Quite apart from the blow to the EXCEPTIONALLY loyal audience shutting down P.R. undoubtably is, it strikes me as sheer madness to cut out of your business profile one of the sections that is clearly growing and has an audience as loyal as we are. We're ROCKERS fer goodness sake!!! has this woman Fru wottits got NO clue what that means? It's a way of life Rock is my religion Planet Rock is my church and I worship EVERY single day! KEEP THE FAITH SAVE PLANET ROCK |
| Tom A. Wed, 02/13/2008 00:03 |
Without PR i will switch my DAB radio off for good and go back to radio 2 on FM. Easy really Planet Rock off? = Digital radio off! If all others follow we will bring them down. |
