My family have been listening to PR since the test broadcasts before the channel was officially on air... How long has that been? We used to tape it to play back to our kids on long car journeys... This station is part of my family history, in fact it IS part of my family! Please don't let this unique station go under!

I think that Planet Rock is the best rock station ever. The first time I tuned in I thought that someone had managed to get hold of some of my favourite albums and was then playing them one after the other. If this station does close it will be the worst thing possible. It is the first and only digital radio station I listen to. Steve. From Bolton

I've got four DAB radios - including one for the car only last month - every single one of them was purchased for the sole reason of listening to Planet Rock! It's streaming over the internet as I type this. Planet Rock is too good to let go under. It's the biggest digital station in the country FFS!

Planet Rock is the reson I bought my Digital radio- its the only station I listen to. Planet Rock has introduced many bands old & new to its listeners & has helped these bands sell their albums. Planet Rock must not be closed down! Sharon Morris

Planet rock needs to be saved, can the government buy it, they bought Northern Rock Bank. They will get a better return if they do. No sorry, do not let the government get hold of one of our pleasures.

The only decent music station in the whole of the UK and some idiot wants to close it down. Nice one... I simply can't believe it. So called "classic" rock is on such a roll at the moment, just look at the current touring plans of the "old" bands. Zep at the O2 even made it to the national news bulletins. How many million applied for tickets for that show? If the likes of Brian May want to buy it, why not?! Just look at the nominees for the Brit awards to see how cruddy other musical genres are at the moment. Come on people, DON'T let this happen!!!!!!!

Planet Rock is the best thing to have happened to British radio broadcasting certainly in my time. Loosing the 'home of rock' would have a devastating effect on my free time listening. Someone please save PR. Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!

I'm in my 60s and this station says everything for my generation. Probably the only rock station that doesn't insult my intelligence. Planet Rock is bigger than Gcap, trust me!

Checking the figures given by Gcap - it appears that combined costs of planet rock and Jazz are 1.7 million per year, with revenue of 1.0 million. Surely this cost gap wouldnt take much to fill. Someone must see the potential from saving Planet Rock.

Planet Rock will be sorely missed by fans of good music everywhere. What other station has the balls to play the whole of Rime of the Ancient Mariner and other classics.
