GCap are mistaken if they believe that DAB hasn't 'taken off' as expected.....it's HUGE!!!!! More people are listening to DAB radio than watching TV. Planet Rock is an out & out WINNER! How can it fail with presenters like Rick, Alice, Fish, Gary Moore.....??? Let's all chip in & buy it!! WE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CLOSE THIS STATION DOWN!!!!!

I was going to buy a portable DAB set. My present one is part of a fixed system. I don`t see the point of getting one now. I wouldn`t recommend one to anyone. How many more stations will shut down. Planet Rock is the only one I listen to on DAB. Tizzla

I bought a portable DAB just before the announcement, so I can take Planet Rock to the end of the garden in the summer (it might be considered a bit anti-social to turn the volume up on the big speakers and point them out the door ...) But seriously, Planet Rock really is consistently the best station out there. I would like to help save it - just need to figure out where to go to pledge. Keep Rockin' guys, Gill

planet rock must be saved!!are the owners short sighted?the station is growing fast and its reputation of bringing us headbangers great shows and music even faster!who else out there has the pulling power to have the likes of wakeman.cooper.moore,fish,manzenera etc to host radio shows? it also keeps me sane at work. keep on rocking as lond as you can and i wouldnt like to be the man who gives alice his p45,watch out for them snakes!

It's interesting to see the number of people who have bought multiple DAB radios to listen to only one station - Planet Rock. I am on the brink of buying a second, but will wait to see if the Planet is still around before taking the plunge. It's the only radio station I ever listen to. There are no other radio stations that rival Planet Rock and I'm sure there can't be that many others that are good enough to make listeners buy more than one radio. Keep on rockin'!

Planet Rock and Five Live Sports Extra (with a touch of BBC7) are the main reason I own a DAB radio. Planet Rock is the digital station I listen to above all others, with Rick's place being the finest programme on TV OR radio. Listeners to rock music have fared very badly when compared to most other genres down the years. At last (or so I thought) we had a high quality long term solution. Roll out to DAB will be considerably hampered without high quality, well though out and well presented programmes such as those presented on Planet Rock. Life without it will be bleak indeed. I think that I will be staging a viking funeral for my DAB radio on the day (heaven forbid) that Planet Rock closes. Accompanied by "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC of course....

I bought a Pure One DAB radio to listen to Planet Rock only, that is the only station it is set up for! i really enjoy all of the shows, in particular Rick Wakeman's Saturday mornings, so if PR goes it will be a very sad loss. Surely there are some wealthy rock stars or even a number of them that could collaborate together to buy the station? I can't believe this is the end for PR. Regards, Nigel

Planet Rock was the reason that compelled me to buy a DAB radio receiver. Having heard PR first on my Sky satellite receiver, I just had to have something portable so I could listen as often as possible. Long live Planet Rock !

I live in Brussels and get Planet Rock thru Sky. It's the only station worth listening to and I never watch TV. It must be saved; pledge all you can afford.

Planet Rock is without doubt a world class radio station. Furthermore, the closure of a DAB radio station would undermine confidence in the DAB industry. If DAB is to succeed it must be encouraged therefore, it is essential that current stations be supported during this relatively early phase in the life of DAB.

It would be a crying shame to shut down Planet Rock - close the others if you need to save money and keep Planet Rock running! No other station comes close for a rock fan.

Please don't close Planet Rock - ever since Tommy Vance was oisted-off Radio One's Rock show, there's been very, very little great rock music played on radio. Having bought a digital radio just so that I could listen to Planet Rock I'm heart-broken to hear that it is being closed . . .Can't we organise an 'interested parties' buy-out of the station and run it ourselves? Perhaps by issuing shares and running it as an independent company? Trev (Price) Penarth.
