Planet Rock has become my staple diet and a link to those REAL music days. Keep on rockin and on the air - I am looking forward to it still being there when the analogue signal gets switched off and the DAB signal is boosted - to get blasted by Planet Rock everywhere. |

I just cant believe that there are plans to axe this station. I know so many people who said its the only reason they own a DABS radio! For goodness sake, listen to public opinion and SAVE PLANET ROCK! |

got a dab radio as a birthday present over 3 years ago and came across pr by accident. what a stunning station. with the government pushing digital systems and the rajar figures showing ever increasing figures over the last two years to over 560,000 how can they dream of closing us down. made some great friends through the forum. it was a sad day when they announced the closure Iain, Enfield aka Nightfighter |

Very sorry to hear the sad news that such a fantastic station is in financial trouble. Firstly, has anyone approached other digital music stations such as TotalRock with a view to pooling resources, or perhaps seek backing for moving into FM given that DAB radio is still in its infancy in terms of available listeners? I believe very few DAB stations bring in much in the way of advertising revenue. Secondly, if all else fails, surely some wealthy rock musicians would consider owning all or part of a rock station. Lastly, if a buyer can't be found, it's up to the listerners to pledge money to save the station, either by single contributions or creating a regular Sanding Order. Don’t give up without a fight! I have no idea what I will listen to if Planetrock closes. Genuinely. Why would you close a unique station with growing listenrship if favour of more and more and more pop crap? |
