ok, just read that listener buy out failed, £2 mill is a lot! But just maybe a rock star buy out? Although we both hate the adverts, maybe there will need to be more to pay the money? Also, could the audience be broadened by having some evening slots on whats happening now ie, nu-metal scene aimed at the younger audience. but not too many changes ehh? love planet rock can't live without you... |

The only reason to listen to DAB is Planet Rock. I purchased DAB radios for home, workshop and office to get my fix of classic music from the past fourty years and not recycled modern one hit wonders. I am now looking to increase my collection purchase albums by bands I had never heard before (Focus, Budgie, etc). If the musicians benefit from the fans purchasing their wares after hearing them on this station, why not create a fund to keep it going with their royslties subsidising the best station on air. It's always the way, something good comes along for lovers of good music and somebody wants to take it away. If I can't listen to Planet Rock then I'll have to listen to radio 3 or 4 'cos I won't listen to the utter crap thats on virgin or radio 1. These are the stations the powers that be want us to listen to to be brainwashed by boyband pop crap!!!!!! SAVE PLANET ROCK.........PLEEEEAAAASE. |

Yes, there are people out there who could buy this station from the "suits" - but you are all missing the point. Why should they ? Why should we ? If G Cap Media want to sell for 2 million - on the back of the people who actually make it what it is - or they will close it, let them. Tell G Cap Media to F--- Off. The medium works, the genre works, the listeners are there, the loyalty is there. For less money a new station can be created - and without the stupid adverts that are now being foisted. Bannatyne ??? The majority of listeners are of an age where they have either made it financially or they had and are now broke. We do not need some wiseguy adverts 'telling' us how to do it !!. Adverts are needed with any commercial station but lets get real about the type that are appropriate. But GCap Media are just clutching at straws here, Comments please. Tony |

Bought a DAB Radio a couple of months ago and it's on virtually 24 hours a day listening to Planet Rock. I have stopped watching TV. When I am in the house I am on my PC playing WoW listening to Planet Rock!!! I raved on about it so much a Swedish friend now also tunes in regularly to listen while we both play WoW!!! Will be a sad day should a buyer not be found in time! Viva La Planet Rock! |
